Year 11 Progress Evening 16th January

Year 11 Progress Evening, 16th January 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

The final Year 11 progress evening will take place in school on Thursday 16th January between 4pm and 7.00pm. Appointments for the progress evening can be booked through the Schoolcloud system. This is an opportunity to talk to subject teachers and to find out what students need to do in the lead up to the exams, which begin in May.

The evening will be an excellent opportunity for parents and carers to learn more about how best to support students with their learning, including strategies and best practice, at this vital time in their education.

The presentation from the Yr11 information evening, held in October, can be found on the school website – Parents/Information Evenings.

We are aware that there is an open evening at South and West Cheshire College on the same night, however, our dates are finalised in the summer.  We understand that this is the second open evening and there will be another next term for anyone who wishes to attend as this evening is a key moment in your child’s school career.

  • Thursday 16 January, 5.30-7pm - General Open Evening (across all campuses)
  •  Wednesday 19 March, 5.30-7pm - General Open Evening (across all campuses)
  • Wednesday 23 April, 5.30-7pm - General Open Evening (across all campuses)

To support your meetings with subject teachers a number of documents have been published on the Edulink App. Should you require any further information or additional support, please visit the school website and find the EduLink One parental guide:

Mock exam summary

This provides an overview of the content that was examined in the December mock exams and the grades achieved. Please note that not all subjects were examined due to the nature of the course.

Long report

The long written report details what students have been taught in subject areas, their behaviour in lessons, their achievements and the targets they need to focus on.

Short report

The short report details student targets and predictions. This is a holistic report that identifies the grades that subject teachers think students will achieve in the summer exams based on current levels of attendance, attitude to learning and performance.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Nick Scoltock
