In every lesson at Blacon High School students are graded with a Study Skills and Attitude (SSA) grade (SSA1: outstanding, SSA2: Good, SSA3: Passive, SSA4: Low Level Disruption, SSA5; High Level Disruption) reflecting their attitude to learning. If a student displays outstanding attitude to learning in a lesson they are awarded an SSA1 grade. Throughout the school year each students SSA1 grades are added up and when a student reaches a milestone they receive a certificate and a call home.
