Uniform and mobile phones
Mobile Phones Policy
The use of mobile phones is not allowed at any time anywhere within the school building.
KS3 students are expected to hand their phone to their tutor during AM registration. The collected phones will be stored in a box within a locked office. Students will be given their phone back during PM registration.
If a KS3 student is seen with their mobile phone on site, the student will be collected and taken to SLT Isolation for the remaining part of the day. The student will also be given a 50-minute detention at the end of the day. The phone will be confiscated and taken to Reception where a log is kept.
If a KS4 student is seen with their mobile phone within the school building, the phone will be confiscated and the student will be given a 50-minute detention.
The first time a student has their phone confiscated, they can collect it at the end of the day. If the phone gets confiscated again, a parent or responsible family member must collect it from school.
We ask parents to play their part in supporting the school and if there is an emergency where you need to contact your child, I ask you to contact the school office who will relay the message or, in extreme circumstances, get them to come to the phone to take the call.
Uniform Policy
We expect all students to wear our uniform. Our uniform reflects our high expectations. It is the first thing to be seen by the public, so we expect students to wear uniform properly at all times, including walking to and from school.
Please note, our uniform can not be ordered through school. Please click the button below to make an order from our supplier.
All Students Should:
- Wear a sensible coat to and from school in poor weather.
- Wear shoes in school at all times.
- Carry a reasonably sized school bag.
- Make sure there are no extremes of hairstyle (colour / cut / tramlines).
- At most, only wear one plain ring / plain round ear-studs, a nose stud and a wristwatch.
Please note that the following items do not form part of the school uniform;
- Any other piercings are not allowed, other than one pair of stud earrings and a stud nose piercing.
- No nail varnish, false nails or false eyelashes.
